Churrascaria: A Cutthroat Game of Gluttony Relaunch

Created by Absurdist Productions

Churrascaria is based on the experience of eating at a Brazilian-style steakhouse where waiters bring unlimited skewers of delicious meat directly to your table. Players are trying to eat all the succulent meats that appear on their plates while avoiding the equally delicious but ultimately unsatisfying sides and desserts that get in the way. All the while, food theft, plate swapping, and general backstabbing keep the food flying and the steaks high. In the end, the person who consumes the most meat wins!

So close to the first Stretch Goal.
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 10:19:03 AM

Things are exciting here at Absurdist HQ. We are getting really close to unlocking our first stretch goal, and only $173 away at this point. This first goal will improve the card quality from a basic blue core to poker quality black core cards. Which are a little thinner and stiffer. As soon as that unlocks we will reveal another goal coming down the pipe.

We might be in the lull, but we continue to have forward momentum thanks to all the sharing and spreading the word that you have all been doing. So keep it up and let’s make this game even better.

On a second note, we’ve had several people ask about how they can get more copies of the game. If you would like to get a second copy as a gift the Feast level is a great choice as it offers an additional small discount. If you are already backing at the Feast level and still want more copies you can either have another person back at the Buffet or Feast levels or add $21 to your Feast level pledge for each additional copy that you would like to get, up to a total of 2 additional copies.

Since we are using a pledge manager, once the campaign is over you will be able to use those funds to add the additional copies of the game to your order in BackerKit.

Also, as a reminder for Retailers there is a section on the page below the Reward levels that lists the information for contacting us regarding ordering copies of the game in bulk. Please email us at Info@absurdistproductions and we will send you our sell sheet and the information on how to back us as a Retailer.

We also sent a message out to all the backers at the Immortalized tier with some information on what kinds of photos we need from you so the amazing Ellie can put your face in the game. The sooner you can get us those the better.

Until next time everyone, keep on gaming.

We are Funded!
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 09, 2018 at 07:36:32 PM

Its official ladies and gents, we are now over 100% funded. We’ve got enough money to make this game a reality and get it into the hands of all you wonderful people who’ve supported us. But we aren’t done yet, we have three weeks left to the campaign and we’ve got multiple stretch goals just waiting to be unlocked and make the game even better. The first three are already visible, and include two levels of improvements to the cards, and if we get enough we'll be able to unlock some cool playmats that we currently having the talented Ellie Jang designing.

We will be revealing more stretch goals over the next few days, and I'm hoping that we can eventually unlock them all. To do that though, we have to keep spreading the word.

We will keep doing our part across all of our social media, and I hope you'll keep sharing it as well.

Almost there!
about 6 years ago – Sun, Apr 08, 2018 at 06:33:06 PM

It is the nearing the end of day 3 we are just over 70% funded. Once again we can’t thank everyone enough for giving us your support to make this crazy little game a reality. However, we aren’t funded yet, and while we do have 27 days left the faster we fund the faster we get to start working towards stretch goals to make the game even better. So please, if you love this game as much as us and want to see it happen, tell your friends, share the campaign on social media, there are a lot of gluttons out there that haven’t heard about us yet.

Speaking of stretch goals, you may have noticed that we stealthily revealed a second stretch goal last night, and we will reveal a third tomorrow night. We’ve got a mix of component quality enhancements, upgrades, add-ons, and then just some fun extras planned, and I’d love to see all of them unlocked before the campaign ends.

In other news, we’ve had tons of people ask us if we could unlock additional Immortalized tier spots since the first five were taken so quickly. Originally we had only agreed to five with our artist since she is a very talented and busy lady and is currently working on several other games alongside ours. However, after discussing it with her today and figuring out the logistics and pricing, we are going to open up five more slots tomorrow morning around 7:45 am central standard time.  After that though, they are gone, no more slots will be available.

Until next time ladies and gents, keep on gaming.

60% on Day One!
about 6 years ago – Wed, Apr 04, 2018 at 02:10:48 PM

Day one of the campaign has just ended, we are 24 hours in and just over 60% funded. First let me say thank you to all of you for this amazing support. We’ve got some great momentum going, so keep sharing the campaign so we can fund in the next few days and then start unlocking some stretch goals.

Speaking of stretch goals, we launched with our first goal revealed, rather than waiting for you to unlock them, we will reveal the second goal this evening to help whet your appetites.

Also this evening, you can catch us on a live stream with the fine folks from TWIST Gaming on Twitch at 8pm est, 7pm central. To watch you should be able to follow this link: https://www.twitch.tv/twistgaming

And if you have a Twitch account you'll be able to ask us questions during the stream and we will do our best to answer anything you throw at us.

Now I need to head to my day job, so I'll leave you with this goofy shot from our launch party last night, where many games were played and much meat was eaten.
